     J L Morrison Lake Number One is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Demopolis is a nice site to spend a night or two. There are great spots to look at along the Payne Lake Nature Trail; you can stay the night at Spillway Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Lewis Lawson Lake Number Five you get some good water scenery at Gross Lake Dam. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lewis Lawson Lake  
   Number Five has to offer, you can camp at Payne Lake Eastside Campground. Much rain falls at Lewis Lawson Lake Number Five; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is September.
Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a good place to get some rest, and a lake close by is Gross Lake. At Lewis Lawson Lake Number Five through the days of summer highs are in the 90's, and the night is slightly colder of course, typically in the 60's.
