     It's a pleasant idea to go to Hostler Creek, it's in close proximity to Lanes Lake; if you came to camp De Soto Caverns Park is a pleasant place to do that. After a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Sylacauga is a good site to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Lanes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cedar Creek Campground is a fine place for that. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Hatchet Creek, and the cheerful people of Talladega-Sylacauga  
   like to hang out close by. You completely have to like Lanes Lake. A great site near Lanes Lake is Tanyard Hill Gap, and a pretty lake like Lake Tate is a good location to explore.
Paddling on Weogufka Creek is so much fun; there's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Lane Dam next to Lanes Lake. For the period of the warm days of summer at Lanes Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's while night lows are generally in the 60's. The wintertime
 
               comes with highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lanes Lake temperatures dip to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Thomas Lake in the neighborhood of Lanes Lake, it's a picturesque lake, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SYLACAUGA.
This lake is so wonderful. Lanes Lake gets a lot of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; October meanwhile is the driest month.

I am planning a trip to Weogufka Creek in a couple of weeks. Any info. regarding trees down or other obstructions would be helpful. We will do County Rd. 15 to Low Water Bridge only....Put in at coosa county management 119 and get out at the bridge is a good short trip with lots of sights......
