There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Choccolocco Creek, and Lake Lewis is not the only spot nearby, Lake Wancoole is a nearby lake. Some close by water includes Fannin Branch, and camping at Powell's Campground is always a delightful experience. At Lake Lewis during the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down       to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake Lewis plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You can catch a glimpse of Savages Mountain from Lake Lewis, and a good close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites PELL CITY. The high level of precipitation makes Lake Lewis a relatively wet site; during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. Quality Inn Pell City is a fine                  location to get some rest, needless to say you could also stop by Tabb Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This place, Lake Lewis, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Dunlap Spring, and there's whitewater on Gulf Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Camping is available at Big Bull Campgrounds; there are plenty of people from Talladega-Sylacauga here. This lake is so wonderful.
