Summertime highs at Lake Henry commonly tend to be in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Lake Henry. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Henry; Odum Trail is a wonderful local trail, and float down the rapids of Cheaha Creek in a kayak. Cheaha Resort State Park is a brilliant campground nearby,       and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Oxford is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Man, is there plenty of cool stuff to do close to Lake Henry. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Anniston/Oxford, Al is a great choice, and a great location to pop by nearby is Shinbone Valley. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water close by, Dempsy Creek is a stream you can pop by while here, and                  since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Headricks Lake. Lake Henry ordinarily gets much rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is October. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salt Creek, and people from Anniston-Oxford love to come here.
