And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do right next door to Lake Gerald. Americas Best Value Inn-Heflin is a delightful site to get some rest, and you don’t have to go far from Lake Gerald to catch a glimpse of the water at Gerald Lake Dam. Lake       Gerald gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month of the year is October. There are some good whitewater spots on Salt Creek, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Odum Trail. For the duration of the summertime months at Lake Gerald temperatures are regularly in the 90's, and the night is a tad colder of course, regularly in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally                  in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Lake Gerald are in the 30's. Lakes? Sure, Lake Virginia is nearby. After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Oxford is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Cheaha Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
