Lake Catoma

Went fishin tonight with red wigglers from Mary Carter. Caught 3 bream 1 3 1/2! 1 newborn 1 one pounder. Says Rut Turner

I was fishing at Catoma last weekend with my friend on his flat bottom boat and we were looking for anything. We caught 17 fish. Nine crappies, six bass, and two bluegill. We were throwing a little Strike King crankbait the was blue on the top, white on the bottom, and had a thin yellow stripe through the middle of it. We went and fished
by the 157 bridge for a little while and didnt catch anything over there. Says Drew Johnson

The crappie didn't corporate so we started bass fishing. Caught several spots and one largemouth. Total for the day was 23 spots one
largemouth and one crappie that we kept. The bass were caught off a white spinnerbait with a chartreuse pork trailer and gold willow leaf. The crappie was caught off a white panfish assassin. The wind blew us all over the lake and the temp was dropping. Cold front must have pushed the crappie back to deeper water. Surface temp was 58. April 14th 2009 Says Richard Wright

I fished Catoma today and didn't catch a single fish (of any species) Mainly targeted

those crappie everybody has been catching, but they must have had a case of lock jaw. After about three hours of nothing I called it a day. Says Richard

I am not sure how the low water conditions of this past summer and fall
will affect the fishing on Catoma in the long run, but my girlfriend and I caught our limit of Crappie, two pushing the three pushing the three pound mark . We were fishing around the Hwy 157 bridge with black/chartreuse grizzly jigs. Says Jay Belcher

The waters of this lake consist of some good catfish and bass.
