     Kyser Lakes is near Walthall Lake Dam which is a striking place undeniably worth stopping at, and Kyser Lakes is not the only site nearby, Walthall Lake is a nearby lake. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Kyser Lakes get into the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's, and overnight lows at Kyser Lakes throughout the winter usually drop into the 30's.  
   Some nearby water includes Jollywell Branch, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Kyser Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Spillway Campground; if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Payne Lake Nature Trail.
Kyser Lakes is a rather wet place generally with lots of precipitation; the month of March
 
               is the wettest with most of the rain; September on the other hand is the driest. There's so much to do here at Kyser Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Payne Lake Eastside Campground is a glorious place for that, needless to say you could also stop by Kyser Lakes if you're here; it's not far at all. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time.

The spillway area is for day use only. It has a pavilion, grills, firepits, picnic tables, and you can fish from shoreline. No camping....

The East Campground is primitive ... no potable water and one porta-pottie in the inner circle loop. This side might be closed for a while in 2009 for renovations. I would contact them before coming....
