     J S Dunlap Dam is a spot that is close to Howards Pond, and get soaked paddling on Weogufka Creek. There's so much to do here at Howards Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Horse Stomp Campground is a fine spot for that; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Alexander City is a brilliant choice. All the water falling down from the sky makes Howards Pond a wet site; most of the rain falls throughout March, and October is when it's the driest. You  
   could also stop by Hallmans Lake while you're here at Howards Pond; it's nearby, and a splendid nearby hotel is Best Western Horseshoe Inn.
Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are beyond doubt abundant here at Howards Pond. If you came to camp Wind Creek State Park is a magnificent place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Dunlaps Lake, and paddling on Hatchet Creek is so much fun. High temperatures at Howards Pond during the summertime
 
               are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 50's, and overnight lows at Howards Pond all through the wintertime commonly drop into the 20's.

I am planning a trip to Weogufka Creek in a couple of weeks. Any info. regarding trees down or other obstructions would be helpful. We will do County Rd. 15 to Low Water Bridge only....Put in at coosa county management 119 and get out at the bridge is a good short trip with lots of sights......
