Go to Howard Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. Rodeway Inn Fort Payne is a glorious site to get some rest, and stop at close by Marys Swamp. Whitewater paddling is fine on Little River - East Fork, and Little River Canyon National Preserve is a good spot nearby. During the days of summer at Howard Lake highs are typically in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs

| | are typically in the 40's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Howard Lake temperatures descend to the 20's.
The top of Little Mountain is easily seen from Howard Lake; there's always Sharp Branch Dam to take a look at in the vicinity of Howard Lake. Don't leave Howard Lake without first paying a visit to Little Falls; if you came for an overnight stay De Soto State Park is a delightful location to camp. You assume that's enough? After a long day outdoors Fort Payne-Days Inn is a great place to spend a night or two; golf can be
played at Saddle Rock Golf Course. A great deal of precipitation falls at Howard Lake; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October. You're sure to encounter some great folks from Summerville
here.
This lake is so wonderful. Little River - West Fork has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and it's a perfect idea to pop by Seymour Branch.
