     Payne Lake Westside Campground is a pleasant local campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Payne Lake Nature Trail. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Lake Grace. You don’t have to go far from Lake Grace to catch a glimpse of the water at Lake Grace Dam; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Sniders Lake. Lots of rainfall falls at Lake Grace; most of the rain falls throughout March; the driest  
   month is October. If you need a place to stay Wingate by Wyndham Tuscaloosa is a good choice. Lakes are good; Frierson Lake is a lake that's near Lake Grace.
Why not camp at Lakeside RV Park while you're here at Lake Grace, and do take a look at Little Flint Branch if you're here at Lake Grace. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Lake Grace, and the night is a little colder of course, commonly in the 70's. Throughout the winter highs
 
               are usually in the 50's while Lake Grace nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's.

This lake has been around for a long time. Years ago, before the I-20/59 interstate was built, it was indeed a great place to fish as I understand it. Now the lake is full of vegetation and difficult to fish or navigate a boat. Also difficult to enter and launch a boat as the roads leading in are washed out and muddy....

The East Campground is primitive ... no potable water and one porta-pottie in the inner circle loop. This side might be closed for a while in 2009 for renovations. I would contact them before coming....

The spillway area is for day use only. It has a pavilion, grills, firepits, picnic tables, and you can fish from shoreline. No camping....
