You can take a little trip to Mud Lake Dam since you're here at Gallant Lake.   This lake has been around for a long time. Years ago, before the I-20/59 interstate was built, it was indeed a great place to fish as I understand it. Now the lake is full of vegetation and difficult to fish or navigate a boat.
