Years ago, before the I-20/59 interstate was built, it was indeed a great place to fish as I understand it. Now the lake is full of vegetation and difficult to fish or navigate a boat. Gallant Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; during the month of March you get the most rain around here while September is mostly the driest month. You'll locate a beautiful lake called Woodland Lake near Gallant Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Vance. Do stop by Giles Lake right next door to Gallant Lake, it's a delightful lake, and camping is available at Lucy's Branch L.l.c..       High temperatures at Gallant Lake through the long summer days are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Gallant Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Mc Calla Koa Kampground if you're here at Gallant Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Value Place Bessemer is a nice choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Six                  Mile Bend has a great whitewater paddling spot close by.
