J W Mayhall Lake Dam is gorgeous and it's near Frost Pond, and a quick trip to Basin Creek is absolutely a magnificent idea. Through the months of summer highs here at Frost Pond get into the 80's while night lows are typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows at Frost Pond through the wintertime usually descend into the 20's. All the water falling       down from the sky makes Frost Pond a wet place; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. So much amusing stuff to do here at Frost Pond, too tremendous to be true. Good hiking is available along the Borden Creek Trail, and Sipsey Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. Nearby Buttram Gulf is a great location to go if you're at Frost Pond, and after a long day outdoors Haleyville Motel                  is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Frost Pond is a delightful site to camp, Payne's RV Park is a delightful site, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hubbard Creek/Sipsey Fork. This lake is so wonderful.
