If you are traveling by, why not stop by Elliotts Lake. Elliotts Lake is a wet place that gets much rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sipsey Fork; on a good day you can take a hike along the Borden Creek Trail. Hubbard Creek/Sipsey Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Elliotts Lake.

| | Wynnewood Inn is a great site to get some rest, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Mcdowell is a glorious location to camp. Summertime highs at Elliotts Lake generally tend to be in the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Elliotts Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail right next door to Elliotts Lake called the Braziel Creek Trail; Elliotts Lake Dam is not far at all from Elliotts Lake.
