     J S Dunlap Dam is worth visiting while you're here; why not camp at Horse Stomp Campground if you're here at Dunlaps Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Hatchet Creek in a kayak, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Alexander City. High temperatures at Dunlaps Lake all through the warm months are in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 50's while the  
   cold winter nights at Dunlaps Lake are in the 20's. Not far from Dunlaps Lake, you'll discover Howards Pond which is a picturesque lake, and camping is available at Wind Creek State Park.
Dunlaps Lake is a quite wet place mostly with a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest month of the year is October. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Elkahatchee Creek; there are other locations here than Dunlaps Lake, for example Hallmans

I am planning a trip to Weogufka Creek in a couple of weeks. Any info. regarding trees down or other obstructions would be helpful. We will do County Rd. 15 to Low Water Bridge only....Put in at coosa county management 119 and get out at the bridge is a good short trip with lots of sights......
