A tremendous spot for whitewater paddling close to Chitwoods Lake is Stringer Creek, and there are plenty of people from Scottsboro here. What a site this is for outdoors people. A pleasant location to camp here at Chitwoods Lake is Sylvania Lake, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft. Payne, Al is a delightful spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Rainsville Country Club is a splendid golf course nearby.       Lakes are wonderful; Dry Pond is a lake that's near Chitwoods Lake. The warmest time of the year at Chitwoods Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Chitwoods Lake. If time allows, Little River Canyon National Preserve is a national park worth visiting, and don't forget to take a nice little trip to Adams Branch.
