Little River Canyon National Preserve is a great local destination here at Chitwoods Lake, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Scottsboro. The high level of rain makes Chitwoods Lake a pretty wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Rainsville Country Club is a brilliant way to kill some time. You'll need more than a day to discover

While you're here at Chitwoods Lake, you could also have a look at beautiful Dry Pond; Hampton Inn Fort Payne is a glorious site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Lake, and you can stay the night at Sylvania Lake. Through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Chitwoods Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with
winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Chitwoods Lake. There are some nice whitewater spots on Kirby Creek, also Chitwood Dam is worth visiting while you're here. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Stringer Creek, and Adams Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to.

We offer a park that is convenient to I-59 (approximately 2 miles from Interstate), good restaurants and Wal-Mart nearby, yet we are in a quiet setting.  | 15 miles away We stayed at Crawford RV park for a week April 2006. A small family owned park which had WiFi was a great find. It was convenient to fishing and other activities.
