Lakes are magnificent; Clay County Lake is a lake that's near Center Hill Lake. Summertime at Center Hill Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Center Hill Lake are in the 30's. Very tremendous water scenery is available       at Center Hill Dam close to Center Hill Lake, and Center Hill Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Cheaha Resort State Park is a tremendous place to camp nearby. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Center Hill Lake has it all. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Center Hill Lake called the Odum Trail, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Cheaha Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Center                  Hill Lake, you'll come across Lake Virginia which is a wonderful lake, and you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Anniston-Oxford here. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Salt Creek, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ANNISTON/OXFORD is a perfect place to get some rest. Center Hill Lake gets much water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October is when it's the driest.
