Camp Horne Lake Number 2 gets much water; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most; October on the other hand is the driest. This lake has been around for a long time. Years ago, before the I-20/59 interstate was built, it was indeed a great place to fish as I understand it. Now the lake is full of vegetation and difficult to fish or navigate a boat. Also difficult to enter and launch a boat as the roads leading in are washed out and muddy....

The East Campground is primitive ... no potable water and one porta-pottie in the inner circle loop. This side might be closed for a while in 2009 for renovations. I would contact them before coming....
