     Brown Pond Dam is a picturesque site near Browns Pond; if you came for an overnight stay Cullman Campgrounds is a glorious place to camp. All through the months of summer at Browns Pond highs are generally in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Browns Pond descend into the 20's. Get soaked  
   paddling on Mill Creek, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Cullman. Looking for something close to Browns Pond? Darrell Parker Pond is close by, and Foxfire Campground is a nice local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lick Creek Pond is in the neighborhood of Browns Pond, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Terri Pines Country Club is in close proximity. A great nearby hotel is
 
               Super 8 Motel - Cullman. Much rain falls at Browns Pond; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here; October is the month with the least moisture.

Lake Catoma

The crappie didn't corporate so we started bass fishing.  Caught several spots and one largemouth.  Total for the day was 23 spots one largemouth and one crappie that we kept.  The bass were caught off a white spinnerbait with a chartreuse pork trailer and gold willow leaf.  The crappie was caught off a white panfish assassin.  The wind blew us all over the lake and the temp was dropping.  Cold front must have pushed the crappie back to deeper water.  Surface temp was 58.  April 14th 2009...I fished Catoma today and didn't catch a single fish (of any species)  Mainly targeted those crappie everybody has been catching, but they must have had a case of lock jaw.  After about three hours of nothing I called it a day....
