The beauty of Brooks Lake is reason enough to stop by. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salt Creek, and a great close by hotel is Lincoln Days Inn. A great deal of precipitation falls at Brooks Lake; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Choccolocco Creek offers some great whitewater; a perfect location

| | to camp here at Brooks Lake is Dogwood Meadows Campground. There are other sites here than Brooks Lake, for example Steeds Lake. Alligator Branch is a great site to stop at, and Comfort Inn Lincoln is a brilliant location to get some rest. Very wonderful water scenery is available at Brooks Dam near Brooks Lake, and at Brooks Lake you always meet someone from Anniston-Oxford. High temperatures at Brooks Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. | |
