Lady Ann Lake
 | This lake is now Sun Lake and is a private community lake for residents. It used to be one of the best public pay access lakes in the state for large bass. Was more of a spring fed swamp back then and has been blasted and manicured with apartments and homes (waterfront) The old spring house and the original dam are still in place. Small boat ramp is available to residents no outboards electric only.... |
Lake Catoma
 | 19 miles away The crappie didn't corporate so we started bass fishing. Caught several spots and one largemouth. Total for the day was 23 spots one largemouth and one crappie that we kept. The bass were caught off a white spinnerbait with a chartreuse pork trailer and gold willow leaf. The crappie was caught off a white panfish assassin. The wind blew us all over the lake and the temp was dropping. Cold front must have pushed the crappie back to deeper water. Surface temp was 58. April 14th 2009...I fished Catoma today and didn't catch a single fish (of any species) Mainly targeted those crappie everybody has been catching, but they must have had a case of lock jaw. After about three hours of nothing I called it a day.... |
