     Swamps don’t sound that good but Jose Creb Bayou in the neighborhood of Big Chippewa Lake is quite good, and a fine location to camp here at Big Chippewa Lake is Dead Lake Fishing Lodge. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn and Suites North Mobile Satsuma is a wonderful place to spend a night or two; why not take a little visit to Cedar Creek since you're here. All through the summer at Big Chippewa Lake highs are frequently in the 90's with overnight lows  
   in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Big Chippewa Lake temperatures dip to the 30's. Camping is available at Camp Delta Rv Park; lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop at Little Chippewa Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll find a picturesque lake called Zedol Lake near Big Chippewa Lake, and a visit to Flat Point is always a great idea. Big Chippewa Lake gets a large amount of water;
 
               March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Big Chippewa Lake, too delightful to be true. If you need a location to stay Microtel Inn and Suites Saraland/North Mobile is a tremendous choice.

Dead Lake Fishing Lodge

The Dead Lake Lodge is now the River Delta Marina and Welcome Center. It was purchased by Mobile County and is ow operated by their Parks Dept.

Campsites, boat launch, rentals, and boat slip rentalas are available. The fishing in this remote bit of the Mobile/Tensas river delta is very good for bass, bream and catfish.
Access to excellent hunting for deer, wild hogs, ducks and small game can also be found along these waterways.

The campground has four camping cabins, RV and tent sites, laundry and a small pool. Limited groceries and bait are available at the camp store.
