For the duration of the summer at Bates Pond temperatures are generally in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Bates Pond all through the wintertime frequently plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bates Pond has to offer, you can camp at Payne's RV Park,       and since you're here you can play some golf at Arrowhead Golf & Country Club. Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa is a glorious site to get some rest, of course you could also have a look at Gnat Pond while you're here; it's not far at all.
