     If you're visiting Bailey Lake from Tuscaloosa, you won't be the only one; nice hiking is available along the Payne Lake Nature Trail. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great planet it would be. There's so much to do here at Bailey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Payne Lake Westside Campground is a glorious location for that. High temperatures at Bailey Lake all through the months of summer are in the 90's. Through the  
   moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Bailey Lake dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a nice site to get some rest; a lake close by is Coleman Lakes.
After a long day outdoors Days Inn Demopolis is a magnificent site to spend a night or two, and Coleman Lakes is a nearby lake that you could go to. Bailey Lake is a relatively
 
               wet place regularly with a good deal of rainfall; March is the month that gets the most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Amos Bailey Dam is a lovely location right next door to Bailey Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bailey Lake has to offer, you can camp at Spillway Campground.

The East Campground is primitive ... no potable water and one porta-pottie in the inner circle loop. This side might be closed for a while in 2009 for renovations. I would contact them before coming....
