A delightful close by hotel is Days Inn Priceville - Decatur, and Mill Creek has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Ashworth Pond is a pretty wet place mostly with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is October. This is no spot       for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Paddling on Flint Creek - East Fork is so much fun, and Point Mallard Campground is a fine campground nearby. Near Ashworth Pond you find a golf course called Indian Hills Golf Course; you can stay the night at Cullman Campgrounds. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Country Hearth Inn Hartselle is a tremendous choice, and there are other places here than Ashworth Pond, for example Roberts Lake.                  Lots of folks from Decatur come to Ashworth Pond, and why not a little side trip to Rocky Branch. Summer at Ashworth Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's.
