You could also stop by Lake Edmond since you're here at Abel Lake; it's close by, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Cheaha Creek. Nearby lakes? Sure, White Lake Number 2 is right next door to Abel Lake, and the vista of Ivory Mountain is lovely. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Abel Lake temperatures       are regularly in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Abel Lake. Abel Lake gets lots of water; March is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Cheaha Resort State Park; a brilliant close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn-Heflin. A delightful place to camp                  here at Abel Lake is Country Court RV Park, and a quick spree to Nixon Branch is positively a fine idea. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salt Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the vicinity of Abel Lake.
