The Talkeetna Mountains is unbeatable! Good hiking is available along the Chickaloon River Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Coal Creek. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Wiener Lake get into the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 10's while Wiener Lake night low temperatures       during the wintertime are in the-10's. The Talkeetna Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Chickaloon River, and don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to Chikootna Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Long Lake right next door to Wiener Lake is a pleasant place to stop at; don't leave Wiener Lake without first going for a hike along the Chickaloon Knik Nelchina Trail. You'll                  locate a gorgeous lake called Upper Bonnie Lake near Wiener Lake.
