This lake is one of the great places here in the Wrangell Mountains. And that's not all the things to do here in the Wrangell Mountains. Chakina River is a perfect whitewater spot near Wheat Lake, and Wheat Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Glacier View Campground is a nice location       to camp nearby. At Wheat Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is April. Some of the water close by flows, like Tractor Creek. This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Sunshine Lake near Wheat Lake; a wonderful place for whitewater paddling is Nizina River. Through the summer at Wheat Lake highs are usually in the 60's with night lows in the 40's.
