At Wheat Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. Summertime at Wheat Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 0's, and nighttime lows in the-20's for Wheat Lake. This place, the Wrangell Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing stuff.       Tractor Creek is a delightful spot to explore, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Chakina River. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors McCarthy Lodge & The Ma Johnsons Hotel is a perfect place to spend a night or two. Glacier View Campground is a fine local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Nizina River offers some pleasant whitewater.
