If the weather is magnificent here at Vagt Lake, you can go for a hike along the Carter Lake Trail, and Falls Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Summertime highs at Vagt Lake typically tend to be in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Vagt       Lake. If time allows, Kenai Fjords National Park is a national park worth taking a look at, and a fine close by hotel is Trail Lake Lodge. After a long day outdoors Alaska Hamptons is a fine location to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Sixmile River. This lake is so wonderful. The yearly rain here at Vagt Lake is about average; October is the month that gets the most rain while May is                  the month with the least amount of precipitation. Vagt Lake in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. While you're here at Vagt Lake you can take a hike along the Johnson Pass Trail, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Canyon Creek. Why not camp at Primrose Landing Campground since you're here at Vagt Lake, and if you're here, do take a spree to Crown Point.
