Man, is there plenty of entertaining stuff to do in the Talkeetna Mountains. Here at Upper Reed Lake you can catch a glimpse of Idaho Peak, and camping at Rivers Edge Recreation Park is always a great experience. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Little Susitna River. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Reeds Creek, and Gold Miners Hotel is a great site to get some rest. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Upper Reed Lake. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Upper Reed Lake overnight | |
