McCarthy Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, naturally you could also visit Star Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. A magnificent close by hotel is McCarthy Lodge & The Ma Johnsons Hotel, and camping is available at Glacier View Campground. Not much precipitation falls here at Threemile Lake; July is the wettest month with most rain while       April is typically the driest month. Threemile Lake is one of the lakes here in the Wrangell Mountains. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the Wrangell Mountains has to offer. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kennicott River, and if you've had enough of Threemile Lake, Louise Lake is close by. Summertime at Threemile Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's, and                  during the night it cools down to the 40's.
