The beauty of Thirtymile Lake is reason enough to stop by. Thirtymile Lake is generally a reasonably dry site; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is March. Matanuska River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and needless to say Linquist Creek flows through this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Thirtymile Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. For the period of the summertime at Thirtymile Lake temperatures are frequently in the 60's.
