     There's so much to do here at Sixmile Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Golden Nugget Camper Park is a good spot for that; if you need a location to stay SpringHill Suites Anchorage University Lake is a nice choice. Sixmile Lake is pretty arid ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that rains the most, and April on the other hand is the driest. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Sixmile Lake.  
   Going for a hike on the Bull Rock Trail is always a nice adventure; if you came to camp John's RV Park and Motel is a great site to do that.
This place, Sixmile Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors cool stuff. This is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes. Triangle Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and near Sixmile Lake you stumble on a golf course called Anchorage Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Gregory Lake Dam is worth checking out while
 
               you're here, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Alpenglow At Arctic Valley while you're here. A good spot for whitewater paddling right next door to Sixmile Lake is Campbell Creek, and Sixmile Lake is a place with many visitors from Anchorage.
Summertime highs at Sixmile Lake mostly tend to be in the 60's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Sixmile Lake. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ship Creek, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Hilltop. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid close by hotel is Anchorage Red Roof Inn, and a trip to Katmai National Park & Preserve is recommended.

Absolutely perfect!!  We were blessed with good weather on our Alaska tour!  The folks at Golden Nugget were so helpful. They knew the area and what was a must see for us. The grounds were well kept and the showers CLEAN!!!...Very nice, clean and quiet RV Park!! Lots of room to stroll around and relax.

Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We have been going there for the past 3 years - it is the largest and best park in Anchorage!! Enjoyed their evening BBQs and entertainment!!
