If you are traveling by, why not stop by Sixmile Lake. Sixmile Lake is regularly a reasonably waterless site; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; April is the month with the least moisture. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ship Creek, and not far from Sixmile Lake you'll stumble on Spring Lake which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Golden Nugget Camper Park is a good campground

| | nearby; visiting Katmai National Park & Preserve is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. At Sixmile Lake through the warm months highs are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sixmile Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. for example Triangle Lake, and Gregory Lake Dam has good water scenery. Alpenglow At Arctic Valley has perfect slopes and a friendly staff, and after a long day outdoors Alaskan European B&B is a pleasant spot to spend a night
or two. You completely should have a thing about Sixmile Lake. If you're a golfer then a nice nearby course is Anchorage Golf Course; there are some splendid whitewater spots on Campbell Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hilltop is
a very popular ski area in close proximity, and you can stay the night at John's RV Park and Motel. Sixmile Lake is a location with many visitors from Anchorage, and there's some flowing water close by, Sixmile Creek is a stream
you can check out while you're here. Red Roof Inn Anchorage is a good spot to get some rest, and do take a hike on the Bull Rock Trail.

 | Absolutely perfect!! We were blessed with good weather on our Alaska tour! The folks at Golden Nugget were so helpful. They knew the area and what was a must see for us. The grounds were well kept and the showers CLEAN!!!...Very nice, clean and quiet RV Park!! Lots of room to stroll around and relax.
Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We have been going there for the past 3 years - it is the largest and best park in Anchorage!! Enjoyed their evening BBQs and entertainment!!
