Shelter Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. If you love the outdoors, you'll go for Shelter Lake. Montana Creek is a great whitewater spot in close proximity to Shelter Lake, and Auke Bay RV Park is a great campground nearby. Take a hike on the Bear Creek Trail.
