If you are traveling by, why not stop by Scott Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Chugach Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Chugach Mountains. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Power Creek; Scott Lake is right by the McKinley Lake Trail.
Scott Lake is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rain; September is the wettest month with most rain,

| | and July is when it's the driest. Glacier River is a delightful whitewater spot close to Scott Lake, and there's magnificent hiking along the Sheridan Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't miss out on a trip to Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve while you're here at Scott Lake, and the Lake Elsner Trail offers hiking at its best.
