Through the months of summer at Sand Lake highs are frequently in the 60's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Sand Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you need       a place to stay Courtyard Anchorage Airport is a fine choice, and Hilltop is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Anchorage Golf Course, and there are other locations here than Sand Lake, for example Sundi Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Campbell Creek, and lakes are such calm places, why not explore Jewel Lake. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's                  even more fun stuff to do here at Sand Lake. Katmai National Park & Preserve is a great spot near Sand Lake, and why not camp at Polar Bear Inn if you're here at Sand Lake. At Sand Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily September, that's the one that rains the most, and April is when it's the driest. Here at Sand Lake there are plenty of people from Anchorage, and why not a little side visit to Campbell Creek. A splendid close by hotel is Lake View Bed and Breakfast, and Hiline Lake Wilderness Camp is a good local campground.
