This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Kings River, and don't leave Ruby Lake without first going for a hike along the Chickaloon River Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Talkeetna Mountains. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Talkeetna Mountains. Alyeska is a pleasant local ski area, and Red Mountain is easy to spot from Ruby Lake.       You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ruby Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pinnacle Mountain Recreation; get soaked paddling on Granite Creek. There are great spots to discover along the Chickaloon Trail. Through the summer months highs here at Ruby Lake reach the 60's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's.
