While you're here at Ruby Lake, you could also visit striking Thirtymile Lake, and here at Ruby Lake you can catch a glimpse of Red Mountain. Skiing at Alyeska is one of those things you just should do, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Chickaloon Trail. This lake is so wonderful.       There are some good whitewater spots on Kings River, and Ruby Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Pinnacle Mountain Recreation is a perfect local campground. There's whitewater on Granite Creek for all you thrill seekers; on a good day you can take                  a hike along the Chickaloon River Trail. Through the warm days of summer at Ruby Lake highs are mostly in the 60's, and the night is slightly colder of course, mostly in the 40's.
