If you are in Matanuska-Susitna county it's always a good idea to stop by Ravine Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There is a magnificent hiking trail in the neighborhood of Ravine Lake called the Chickaloon River Trail; Coal Creek is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. Ravine Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains.
Through the warmest time of the year at Ravine Lake highs are typically in the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down to

| | the 40's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Ravine Lake. And that's not everything you can do here in the Talkeetna Mountains. The Chickaloon Knik Nelchina Trail is a delightful hiking trail close to Ravine Lake; in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chickaloon River.
