     Summertime highs at Ravine Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 60's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Ravine Lake are in the 0's. This place, the Talkeetna Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. Good hiking is available along the Chickaloon Knik Nelchina Trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater  
   paddling on Coal Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Ravine Lake; Chickaloon River Trail is a great local trail.
This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Ravine Lake, for example Rush Lake, and whitewater paddling is great on Chickaloon River. At Ravine Lake you don’t see much rainfall; September is when you get the most rain here, and March is when it's the driest. Getting to Sawmill Creek from Ravine Lake is easy. Lakes? Sure, Bonnie Lake is close by.
Ravine Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains.

Chickaloon River Trail
My family built the cabin about 3 miles off the hwy. in '57 overlooking the river.  The creek at the bottom of the hill below the cabin is Gin Creek, named after my mom (Ginger).  We've hiked about 12 miles up the trail and all over the area.  Many fond memories....
