This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at A Creekside Trailer Park; why not take a refreshing hike along the Grant Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You get a delightful sight of Andy Simons Mountain from Ptarmigan Lake. From a rainfall point of view Ptarmigan Lake is a relatively normal place; the wettest month of the year is usually October, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is May.       A lake close by is Grant Lake, and the Paradise Valley Trail offers hiking at its best. You could also go to Vagt Lake if you're here at Ptarmigan Lake; it's close by, and there are some great whitewater spots on Canyon Creek. Camping at Primrose Landing Campground is always a pleasant experience, and if you need a spot to stay Trail Lake Lodge is a brilliant choice. Through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 60's at Ptarmigan Lake. For the period                  of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Ptarmigan Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. If you come at the right time of year, Sixmile River offers some great whitewater; Ptarmigan Lake is right by the Johnson Pass Trail. So many fun things to do here at Ptarmigan Lake, too great to be true.
