If you like lakes and you're in this part of Alaska you can check out Preachers Pond. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Good hiking is available along the Grant Lake Trail, and you can stay the night at Bear Creek RV Park. There are fine sites to discover along the Lost Lake Trail, and Kenai Fjords National Park is one of the destinations that are glorious to go to nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Carter Lake Trail
 | 12 miles away 1 PHOTO Took the hike from the Seward highway and it was a very well maintained trail and good parking lot with even bathrooms. The hike was very intense and switch backed multiple times. Tiny streams cross your path. Once up top it is beautiful. After some time walking threw the alpine, you come across a trail which to the left take you to the lake and to the right takes you to the bear box and camping area. It's a stocked lake so bring your rod.... |
Johnson Lake

Is stocked w/trout, but that doesn't mean they are stupid fish! sorry about the poor picture, but gives you an idea... Johnsons Lake is an amazing place for family camping. The lake is great to swim in and has alot of fish to catch.... |
