    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Alaska you can check out Preachers Pond. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Good hiking is available along the Grant Lake Trail, and you can stay the night at Bear Creek RV Park. There are fine sites to discover along the Lost Lake Trail, and Kenai Fjords National Park is one of the destinations that are glorious to go to nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a pretty lake  
   called Second Lake near Preachers Pond; you can go for a hike on the Carter Lake Trail.
Dry warm beds await you at Harborview Inn; Holiday Inn Express SEWARD HARBOR is a great site to get some rest. For the period of the summer months highs here at Preachers Pond get into the 60's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and overnight lows at Preachers Pond all through the wintertime commonly
 
               descend into the 10's. Lakes are such serene sites, why not pop by The Lagoon near Preachers Pond, and Box Canyon Creek is near Preachers Pond and is always a delight to take a look at.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Preachers Pond is close to the national average; during October this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is May. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Canyon Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Preachers Pond has to offer, you can camp at Exit Glacier RV and Camping.

Took the hike from the Seward highway and it was a very well maintained trail and good parking lot with even bathrooms. The hike was very intense and switch backed multiple times. Tiny streams cross your path. Once up top it is beautiful. After some time walking threw the alpine, you come across a trail which to the left take you to the lake and to the right takes you to the bear box and camping area. It's a stocked lake so bring your rod....

Johnson Lake is is pure bliss.  only electric motors are allowed & like all Alaskan lakes, no live bait.  Is stocked w/trout, but that doesn't mean they are stupid fish! sorry about the poor picture, but gives you an idea...
Johnsons Lake is an amazing place for family camping. The lake is great to swim in and has alot of fish to catch....
