This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Pipeline Lake you can take a hike along the McKinley Lake Trail, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Glacier River. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Chugach Mountains, too great to be true. Nearby lakes? Sure, McKinley Lake is right next door to Pipeline Lake, and here at Pipeline Lake you can catch a glimpse of McKinley Peak. You assume that's enough? Just getting       warmed up. Pipeline Lake is a wet location that gets a large amount of precipitation; September is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Near Pipeline Lake you hit upon the Lake Elsner Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; the Sheridan Mountain Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Pipeline Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs                  in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Pipeline Lake. This is a glorious neighborhood for people who like lakes. Middle Lake is a lake close at hand, and do pay a visit to Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve if you're here at Pipeline Lake.
