spot to camp here at Peterson Lake is Spruce Meadow Recreational Vehicle Park, and do take a hike on the Montana Creek Trail.
Peterson Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; October is the month that gets the most rain;
April is when it's the driest. A tremendous site for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Peterson Lake is Montana Creek, and camping at Auke Bay RV Park is always a wonderful experience. Inspiration Point is in close proximity to Peterson Lake and is a great spot to explore, and you can run the rapids of Eagle River.
