     The scenery at Meals Lake Dam in close proximity to Odiak Lagoon is pretty, and going for a hike on the Eyak Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Not far from Odiak Lagoon you find Knot Point, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Power Creek. This lake is so wonderful. From Odiak Lagoon you obtain a good vista of Mount Eccles, and Fleming Spit is undeniably a good place to take a look at. Fleming Creek is near Odiak Lagoon and is always a diversion  
   to check out; a good close by hotel is Valdez Harbor Inn.
Odiak Lagoon is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally September, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is July. For the period of the summertime, highs regularly are in the 60's at Odiak Lagoon with overnight lows in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Odiak
 
               Lagoon are in the 10's. Crater Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; you can go for a hike on the Lake Elsner Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of Odiak Lagoon. Do take a look at Meals Lake right next door to Odiak Lagoon, it's a delightful lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Wortmann's Creek.
