Odiak Lagoon commonly gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Good hiking is available along the Lake Elsner Trail, and since you're here, you could explore Fleming Creek. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Power Creek; don't leave Odiak Lagoon without first going for       a hike along the Eyak Trail. Lakes are great; Crater Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Odiak Lagoon, and the view of Mount Eccles is scenic. Odiak Lagoon in fact is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. If you need a place to stay Valdez Harbor Inn is a brilliant choice, and Fleming Spit is another fine site to stop at nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Wortmann's Creek offers some nice whitewater,                  and Knot Point is quite close. Through the warm months at Odiak Lagoon temperatures are ordinarily in the 60's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Odiak Lagoon temperatures dip to the 10's.
