A visit to O'Connell Lake is always a good idea. It is very waterless here at O'Connell Lake mostly; the month with most of the rain is September, and April on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at O'Connell Lake all through the summer months are in the 60's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. nearby is Anchorage Golf Course. What a spot this is for outdoors people. Waldron Lake is a tremendous lake near O'Connell Lake, and a day on the slopes of Hilltop is just what you need. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable
stuff close to O'Connell Lake. If you need a location to stay Embassy Suites Anchorage is a magnificent choice; you can stay the night at Highlander Camper Park. Dry warm beds await you at Springhill Suites By Marriott Anchorage;
close by you hit upon the Bull Rock Trail which is a good hiking trail. Don't forget to take a fine little visit to Little Campbell Creek, and there are other places here than O'Connell Lake, for example Tina Lake. Don't miss
out on a trip to Katmai National Park & Preserve while you're here at O'Connell Lake; in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ship Creek.

 | Absolutely perfect!! We were blessed with good weather on our Alaska tour! The folks at Golden Nugget were so helpful. They knew the area and what was a must see for us. The grounds were well kept and the showers CLEAN!!!...Very nice, clean and quiet RV Park!! Lots of room to stroll around and relax.
Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We have been going there for the past 3 years - it is the largest and best park in Anchorage!! Enjoyed their evening BBQs and entertainment!!
