Lakes are good; Paradise Lakes is a lake that's close to Nellie Juan Lake, and Alaska Hamptons is a tremendous place to get some rest. All the water falling down from the sky makes Nellie Juan Lake a wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly October, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is May. During the long summer days at Nellie Juan Lake highs are generally in the 60's with night lows in the 40's. The wintertime
comes with highs in the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Nellie Juan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes. Lower Paradise Lake is a lake around here, and going for a hike on the Johnson Pass Trail is always a fine adventure.
Whitewater paddling is delightful on Nellie Juan River, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Paradise Valley Trail.

Johnson Lake is is pure bliss.  only electric motors are allowed & like all Alaskan lakes, no live bait.  Is stocked w/trout, but that doesn't mean they are stupid fish! sorry about the poor picture, but gives you an idea...
Johnsons Lake is an amazing place for family camping. The lake is great to swim in and has alot of fish to catch....

Johnson Pass Trail
19 miles away
Is johnson Creek Suitable to float down in a small paddle boat?  Thanks...As a Kenai Peninsula hiker and resident, I can say that Johnson Pass Trail is a winner. It's a relatively easy, well-established trail, through beautiful alpine terrain (especially on the north side of the pass). I've done the traverse both as a long 23-mile day hike, and as a 2-day backpack. There are no established campgrounds on the trail - make your own site and leave no trace. Water is available in streams and lakes pretty much all along the trail - but filter or treat all Alaska's water. I recommend going from North to South, especially if you do it as a one-day mega hike. It's also a favorite for mountain bikers....

I think Alyeska has the highest elevation drop in Alaska but I could be wrong. Needless to say we're pretty ok with snow up here in Alaska, there's so much snow here you can't believe it. The skiing is perfect perfect! I cannot get enough of this mountain ever! Do wear plenty of clothes though....
