Muddy Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Kenai Riverside Campground and RV Park is a great spot to camp nearby; the Schooner Bend Trail offers hiking at its best. A good spot for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Muddy Lake is Kenai River, and after a long day outdoors Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge is a nice spot to spend       a night or two. Summertime highs at Muddy Lake generally tend to be in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Muddy Lake. Around Muddy Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; September is when you get the most rain here, and April is when it's the driest.
