In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eagle River. Mud Lake gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is typically September, that's the one that rains the most; April is the month with the least moisture. Man, is there loads of fun stuff to do in the Talkeetna Mountains. A glorious close by hotel is Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, and Peters Creek Campground is a wonderful       campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Grand View Inn And Suites is a good place to get some rest; a charming lake like Beverly Lake is a perfect place to stop by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Talkeetna Mountains. Summertime highs at Mud Lake usually tend to be in the 60's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 10's, and night lows at Mud Lake during the winter ordinarily dip                  into the 0's.
