The skiing at Mt Aurora Skiland is glorious; Gates Of The Arctic National Park & Preserve is a glorious local destination. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Bonnifield Trail is always a fine adventure. Clear Creek is a glorious place to go to, and Monterey Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Li-WA is a good local campground. There's just no way       anyone can get bored here at Monterey Lake. Borealis Inn is a delightful location to get some rest, and possibly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Lake Paul is just a very short distance away. A nice site to camp here at Monterey Lake is Rainbow Lake RV Park; you're sure to encounter some smiling people from Fairbanks here. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Birch Hill is easily spotted from Monterey Lake, and after a long day outdoors Pikes Waterfront                  Lodge is a great spot to spend a night or two. At Monterey Lake you don’t see much precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and April is when it's the driest. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like North Star Golf Club; if you've had enough of Monterey Lake, Goldstream Lakes is close by. Through the days of summer at Monterey Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's.
