During the summer highs here at Monterey Lake reach the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 0's while Monterey Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. There's so much to do here at Monterey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Li-WA is a great location for that. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing       at Mt Aurora Skiland is one of those things you just ought to do, and a round of golf at nearby North Star Golf Club is a pleasant way to kill some time. During your trip to Monterey Lake you'll meet some people from Fairbanks for sure, and if you need a place to stay Borealis Inn is a good choice. Pikes Waterfront Lodge is a brilliant location to get some rest; unsurprisingly Clear Creek is a striking stream that is worth visiting. So much cool stuff to                  do at Monterey Lake, so little time. A tour to Gates Of The Arctic National Park & Preserve is worthwhile, and nearby you come across the Bonnifield Trail which is a fine hiking trail. On a gorgeous day you get a sight of Birch Hill from Monterey Lake, and Monterey Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Rainbow Lake RV Park is a delightful local campground.
