Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Chugach Mountains. The Lake Elsner Trail is a perfect hiking trail next to Middle Lake; get wet paddling on Glacier River. Lakes? Sure, Eleanor Lake is nearby, and if you're looking for a great trip, Wrangell - St Elias National       Park & Preserve is quite near. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Middle Lake. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Middle Lake descend into the 10's. Just can't get enough of Middle Lake. Middle Lake is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rain; the month of September is the wettest with most of the                  rain; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. Scott Lake is a pleasant lake in the neighborhood of Middle Lake, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the McKinley Lake Trail.
