Many people like to go to Middle Lake. A lot of rain falls at Middle Lake; the wettest month of the year is typically September, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. The Chugach Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Chugach Mountains. You can run the rapids of Glacier River near Middle Lake; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Eyak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant

| | spot for whitewater paddling near Middle Lake is Power Creek, and do take a hike on the Lake Elsner Trail. High temperatures at Middle Lake through the warm months are in the 60's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; night lows throughout the winter for Middle Lake tend to be in the 10's.
All our national parks are delightful sites to have a look at, and Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is no exception, and hiking along the Sheridan Mountain Trail is tremendous fun. | |
