What a location this is for outdoors folks. Middle Lake is a beautiful lake in the Chugach Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Middle Lake is right by the Lake Elsner Trail; if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Power Creek. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Middle Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come       with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Middle Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. And if that's not enough there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Chugach Mountains. Take a hike on the Sheridan Mountain Trail, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Glacier River. The vistas at Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve will blow your mind; if you've had enough of Middle Lake, Island Lake is close by. Have a delightful                  hiking adventure along the Eyak Trail; you're in all probability keen on lakes, Cabin Lake is one of those nearby.
