This is a perfect neighborhood for people who like lakes. Island Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Eyak Trail. Visiting Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Cabin Lake. Middle Lake gets a lot of water; of all the months       in a year September is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Glacier River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; going for a hike along the Sheridan Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Throughout the months of summer at Middle Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 60's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the                  30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Middle Lake. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Middle Lake. And if that's not sufficient there's a load more entertaining stuff to do in the Chugach Mountains.
