Nugget Creek Dam is pretty and it's close to Mendenhall Lake, and you can go for a hike on the West Glacier Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Spaulding Trail; whitewater paddling is wonderful on Montana Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mendenhall Lake a wet place; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is April. | | Mendenhall Lake temperatures are mostly in the 60's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mendenhall Lake fall into the 20's. Mendenhall River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Eaglecrest. Pearsons Pond Inn and Spa. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Auke Bay RV Park, and Mendenhall Lake is not far at all from Juneau. Don't leave Mendenhall Lake without first going for a hike along the Nugget Creek Trail.
If you love the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Mendenhall Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Juneau is a great location to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Mendenhall Lake, Dredge Lake is close by. Spruce Meadow
Recreational Vehicle Park is a great campground nearby, and Mendenhall Lake is not the only place close by, Nugget Creek is a close by lake.
