This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Spaulding Trail; whitewater paddling is wonderful on Montana Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mendenhall Lake a wet place; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is April. For the period of the warmest time of the year at       Mendenhall Lake temperatures are mostly in the 60's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mendenhall Lake fall into the 20's. Mendenhall River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Eaglecrest. Arastra Creek is a tremendous site to check out, and a great nearby hotel is                  Pearsons Pond Inn and Spa. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Auke Bay RV Park, and Mendenhall Lake is not far at all from Juneau. Don't leave Mendenhall Lake without first going for a hike along the Nugget Creek Trail. If you love the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Mendenhall Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Juneau is a great location to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Mendenhall Lake, Dredge Lake is close by.
